30 April 1974: Richard and Linda Thompson released their brilliant second album, Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight, 50 years ago today. Initially ignored by reviewers, the album later came to be highly regarded.
In 2003, it was placed at number 479 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
